There are 27 named bones in one’s hand. Fractures are a common injury and represent a wide spectrum. Often simple treatment is all that is required. Our excellent hand therapists will see and treat simple injuries under my supervision. More complex fractures that need surgery will be treated with the most up to date techniques that allow, if at all possible, early motion and no casts. All hand fracture repairs are followed closely by both the consultant and hand therapy services to ensure the best possible results. Sequential X-rays are often required for these injuries.
